The Saratoga Beach Resort and Golf Course

The Saratoga Beach Golf Course is an established nine hole executive course within the resort community of Black Creek, located along the east coast of Vancouver Island, between Courtenay and Campbell River. The property is a short walk from Saratoga Beach and adjacent to the salmon bearing Oyster Creek River.

The resort community of Saratoga Beach has become a preferred destination for recreational and retirement investment. Within 15 minutes of Courtenay / Comox, (serviced by West Jet airlines with direct flights to major cities in Alberta), the area offers not only golf but also skiing, sports fishing, and boating. This "four season" area already has gone through significant evolution over the last few years as a destination for recreational and soft-adventure tourism, one of the largest growing markets in the world. An 8.77-acre portion of the property, currently utilized as a driving range, has been recently approved by the Comox Strathcona Regional District (CSRD) for a major destination resort. The Development Permit encompasses all approving authorities, including the CSRD, Highways, Environment, Fisheries and Geotechnical, was issued Feb 27 2006. The 30 acre 9 hole executive golf course has been in operation for some time and considered the best Island course in this classification.

The new Saratoga Beach Resort and Golf Club will consist of:

  1. The Saratoga Beach Hotel:
    • a boutique hotel with 20 suites (1/4 share available)
    • 40-seat restaurant and a 100-seat pub
    • Golf Pro Shop
    • Spa-fitness center.
  2. Quarter-share mixed residential consisting of:
    • 16 townhouse units in 3 and 4 plex configuration
    • 24 unit 3 storey apartment
  3. Permanent Accommodation sought by area residents will be:
    • Two condominium apartment blocks, consisting of 30 units each.
  4. Saratoga Golf Course (now in operation) - zoning, development permits are in -
    • 30 acres
    • 9 Hole Executive Course
    • Par 36 playing 4,667 yards from blue tees

Building form and character is intended to reflect the resort nature of the area with extensive use of pitched roofs, natural materials, open space and fully developed landscaping and planting.
